Summer @ MPL!
We’re well into summer and there’s so much to do at your Midland Public Library.
“Summer reading” is on for kids and teens, plus a whole lot more.
Kids ages 0-12 can discover their world in the summer reading club, or head outside for our weekly Wednesday story time and two story walks in Little Lake Park (July 19 and Aug. 9).
We’ve also added a science story time on Mondays and a French story time on Thursdays, through the summer. We’ve got family movies every Wednesday afternoon, and check our brochure and calendar for Around the World in 60 Minutes, Art Adventurers, Maker Madness, and more.
Our teen summer reading (ages 12-plus) is all about choosing your own adventure. A ballot for each book read gives teens lots of chances to win great prizes, including the grand prize, two passes to Canada’s Wonderland.
Plan on joining our end of summer party Aug. 27, and until then, don’t miss out on the Tuesday Teen Drop-In, and the MakerPlace Teen Takeover.
For adults, our French conversation group, writers group, Midland Makers, and tech one-on-one appointments are still going strong all summer.
We’re adding some great movies to the lineup, too: Mary, Queen of Scots, A Dog’s Way Home, and Poms!are all on our Monday afternoon calendar.
We’ve got a summer cookbook club, and if you like a personal challenge, try our Summer Reading Bingo.
If what you’re looking for is a way to beat the heat, come in any time we’re open to see what’s new and find the right book, eBook, audiobook, DVD, puzzle, fishing rod, genealogy database, green screen, robot, and more for you.
